Joshua McLean was victorious at the penultimate round of the LGM Tour at Glan-Y-Gors in Wales last weekend. McLean was followed home by team mates Jessica Edgar and Cian Shields, as the trio completed a white wash of wins in qualifying, the heats and the final.

In Timed Qualifying, McLean topped the time sheets, after narrowly pipping team mate Edgar by 0.080s to secure pole position. Just behind was Scotsman Shields, who posted the 4th fastest time, with Zac Meakin in 7th.

Edgar took the honours in Heat 1, as she lead home the first Fusion 1,2,3 of the day, with McLean and Shields completing the top 3 positions. Meakin was unfortunate to be caught up in an incident mid race, finishing down in 14th.

In Heat 2, it was McLean’s who clinched victory, as Edgar and Shields once again filled the first 3 positions, 4 seconds ahead of the chasing pack. Meakin had a much improved run this time round, finishing up in 5th, leaving him with a realistic chance of a podium in the final.

With the weather remaining dry and unusually warm around the North Wales circuit, Edgar lead as the lights went out. The top 3 immediately started to create a gap to the chasing pack, however their speed was far greater than any of the rest on the grid. With the race coming to a close, McLean took to the front, and didn’t look back, as he crossed the line first, ahead of Edgar in 2nd and Shields in 3rd, making it a Fusion podium lockout, and fastest lap going to McLean along the way. Despite being as high as 6th at one stage, Meakin was unable to go with the front 3, and unfortunately slipped back to 13th after an initial good start.
