More frustration for Fusion Motorsport Junior drivers in Super One

MORE FRUSTRATION FOR JUNIORS AT SHENINGTON

Fusion Motorsport’s Junior X30 drivers, Oliver Bearman, Tom Edgar and Douglas Bolger were in action at Round 5 of the British Super One Championship, held at Shenington, Banbury.

A disappointing timed qualifying saw Bearman the highest placed for the team, down in 14th, whilst Edgar could only manage 19th and Bolger 27th. However, in Heat 1, all 3 drivers gained positions, with Bearman finishing 12th, Edgar climbing to 17th, and Bolger to 24th.

Much the same was to follow in Heat 2, as Bearman again was the best of the trio, finishing in 10th, whilst Bolger had a strong climb to 19th, however a 1 lap penalty saw Edgar finish down in 29th after he had orginally finished 17th.

With more improvements looking to be made on Sunday, Bearman maintained position in Final 1, to secure 8th on the grid for Final 2. Edgar fought his way through the pack to 16th, gaining 10 places along the way, whilst Bolger finished 23rd.

In Final 2, unfortunately lady luck was not on the Fusion boys side, as they all suffered losses of position. Bearman was the best of the trio, coming home in 12th, whilst Edgar’s disappointing weekend rounded off with an 18th position finish, and Bolger struggled down in 24th, after picking up a nose cone penalty through the race.
