In Timed Qualifying, all 3 drivers struggled with the wet conditions, with Bolger achieving the highest ranked Fusion driver, down in a lowly 17th, closely followed by team mate Bearman (18th) and Edgar in 22nd. However, come the heats, things got a little better for Bearman, as he put a strong drive together climbing up 9 places to 9th, although the same couldn’t be said for Bolgar and Edgar who both incurred nose cone penalties demoting them to 26th and 27th. In Heat 2, Edgar climbed 8 places as he recorded a 14th, however Bearman struggled again (20th) as the rain continued to pour. Things went from bad to worse for Bolgar, as he picked up another 10 second nose cone penalty, resulting in a finish of 24th.
In Final 1, Bearman started 14th, Edgar 22nd and Bolger 28th. All three of the Fusion drivers were involved in a mid pack battle, which resulted in Bearman gaining 2 places to finish 12th, Edgar climbing 6 positions to finish 16th, and despite finishing 20th on track, Bolger picked up yet another nose penalty, forcing him down to 23rd, yet still gained 5 places. Despite a dry Final 1, in Final 2 the rain fell. Tom Edgar made the most of the cautious start, and immediately started to make his way up through the order. Bolger was following suit, picking off drivers one by one, however his day went from bad to worse as he’s picked up his FORTH nose cone penalty of the weekend, meaning a further 10 seconds would add on to his time at the end. Bolger wasnt the only Fusion driver to pick up a penalty, as Bearman’s mixed weekend ended up with a penalty at the flag, as he finished down in 25th after a mid race incident. Edgar was the best finisher for the Fusion squad, cementing an 8th position at the finish, along with Bolger down in 23rd with his penalty.
